Policy on the use of generative Artificial Intelligence

The use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for the development of contents in any of the sections must be declared in the materials and methods section of the manuscript. The program used, including the ways, the nature and the extent of its use, must be indicated.

It is the author’(s) responsibility to verify the validity and accuracy of the information generated through the use of generative AI, as well to identify and avoid bias in the manuscript. The author(s) should also give intellectual authorship credit to the published knowledge (regarding the sources consulted by AI).

The following actions are not authorized for the use of AI in the submitted manuscripts:

• Cite AI as author or co-author in the manuscript.
• Design or modify images contained in the document.

The use of nondeclared AI material in the manuscript (without credits and without a declaration of its use), including the creation of images, tables, graphics, or any element or section, will result in the rejection of the manuscript.

CienciaUAT’s policy on the use of  generative Artificial Intelligence adheres to the ethical principles and recommendations made by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Therefore, authors must ensure the integrity and transparency of all manuscripts submitted for consideration in this journal.
