There is limited scholarly work on perceptions of workplace sexual harassment across different international contexts, underscoring the need for valid, reliable, and invariant instruments to enable cross-national comparisons. The aim of this study was to analyze the psychometric properties, specifically the factor structure and preliminary measurement invariance, of culturally adapted scales designed to assess social perceptions of workplace sexual harassment among agricultural workers of Mexican origin in Michoacán, Mexico, and California, United States of America (USA). Instruments developed for this study were administered to 197 participants: 40 men and 60 women in Michoacán, and 38 men and 59 women in California. A version of the Sexual Experiences Questionnaire adapted to assess sexual harassment among Latinas (SEQ-L) was used, with three additional items assessing requests for sexual favors in exchange for benefits (Quid pro quo) and four items assessing helplessness; along with the Illinois Sexual Harassment Myth Acceptance Scale (ISHMA). The results provided preliminary evidence of configural invariance across several dimensions; however, metric invariance was achieved only for the Sexually Hostile Work Environment dimension, indicating differences in factor loadings across contexts. These findings suggest that the scales can identify the underlying organization of the phenomenon but do not ensure direct comparability of scores across contexts. Overall, the findings should be interpreted as preliminary evidence derived from adapted versions of the instruments, highlighting the methodological challenges of assessing workplace sexual harassment among agricultural workers of Mexican origin across different countries.
